Pindangan Festival | San Fernando La Union

After a heavy breakfast, I was ready to wait for the performers to show off their moves and their colorful costumes. Yes, I was in for a day of streetdancing to celebrate San Fernando City's Pindangan Festival.

The festival was a part of the celebration of the town's Cityhood every March 20th.
Basic Education Schools  up to the tertiary level compete in street dancing.

It was a delight to see students clad in colorful bamboo-inspired costumes signifying the City's One-Town-Product (bamboo). 

As the music started, the participants got to their feet and placed their best foot forward. The showdown began.

Spectators cheered as the performers danced away. Children chose their favorites, probably dreamed of doing the same moves in the future.

Products made of bamboos were part of their performance. Baskets, bilaos, fans, etc.

It was fun to watch kids moving gracefully to the music. You can see how much effort they had put in to perfect their performance.

With no photog pass, I stayed at the sidelines to watch and take some snaps. I was stopped by guards the moment I tried to move in front of the performers. :) Before I get in trouble or end up in jail of some sort, I backed off and just watched from a distance. Til next festival!
